Choose health. Choose strength. Choose the StrongPath.
Choosing the StrongPath is a book about the most insidious health crisis in the world, Sarcopenia, a muscle-wasting and frailty disease. It impacts all of us as we age, unless we proactively prevent it.

As a world-renowned investigator and case builder, Fred Bartlit has done this once again with this book. He and coauthor Steven Droullard, along with muscle physiology expert Dr. Marni Boppart, want to share a little known fact with the world: You don't have to fall apart as you get older. Through carefully calibrated progressive strength training and supporting nutrition, you can stave off sarcopenia, along with dozens of other age-related illnesses.

Using scientific evidence and real-life case studies, Choosing the StrongPath offers a clear path away from a steady decline in the last third of your life and toward a healthier, happier you.

From the Publisher

You don’t have to fall apart as you get older

So-called ‘age related’ declines in strength and endurance are Not the inevitable result of natural processes.

These declines are not caused by diseases of aging.

These declines are, instead, preventable and reversible disabilities brought on by our behavior.

Learn the principles of the StrongPath to live your life on your own terms regardless of age.

About the Authors

Fred Bartlit

Fred is a West Point graduate, U.S Army troop commander, a Distinguished Graduate of the U.S. Army Ranger Detachment, and a U.S. Army Ranger. He has been a trial lawyer for 57 years and represented President Bush and President Obama in their most important court matters. At age 85 his resistance workout keeps him objectively stronger than he was as a Ranger in his 20s. His lifelong experience, resulting from good exercise habits and techniques, demonstrates that frailty need not be an inevitable part of aging.

Steven Droullard

Steven teaches Attention Mechanics as they apply to psychological transformation at UPR in Los Angeles. He adopted Fred’s regimen after cancer and bypass surgery. At 66 he has fully recovered and is now physically stronger than he was in his 20s. He addresses the mental pitfalls that defeat many who sincerely want and need to adopt healthy habits.

Dr. Marni Boppart

Dr. Boppart is an associate professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Community Health and is full-time faculty at the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology at the University of Illinois, Urbana–Champaign, where she heads the Molecular Muscle Physiology Laboratory. Her research interests include cellular biomechanics, cell signaling, and the role of extracellular matrix proteins in the protection of skeletal muscle from injury, disease, and aging.
